Sharks, Vikings win big in Futsal games

Samoana beat the Leone Lions 7-3 while the Vikings won 6-3 against Nu’uuli Voc-Tech Wildcats.
The win for Samoana has them sitting in second place to the idle Tafuna Warriors while the Lions dropped from third to fourth in the standings. Faga’itua moved up two spots, from last to third while the Wildcats dropped down one, fourth to fifth.
Futsal games are held once a week every Tuesday at Samoana High School.
JP Fa’avae came up big for the Sharks with a four-goal performance; two of them coming in the first half that saw Samoana lead only 2-1.
An own-goal by the Sharks two minutes into the second half saw the game tied at 2-2 but the Lions returned the favor with an own goal of their own to put Samoana back into the lead, 3-2, five minutes later.
The Sharks kept up their relentless attack and it resulted in a blowout win for them as the Lions could not answer back.
Faga’itua had the game well in hand after the first half with a 4-1 lead with the game’s final score becoming respectable due to a late flurry of goals from Nu’uuli.
Shalom Luani was superb in his hat trick performance while Harry Alo added a brace.
