Leone leads boys’ futsal league

A 6-2 against Manumalo Baptist on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at Tafuna High School helped elevate them to the top of the leaderboard. However, they needed the second tie breaker — goals scored — to edge the Vikings as both were tied with 12 points each and the differential in goals of 11 apiece.
Leone has scored 17 goals so far to Faga’itua’s 16.
The Vikings did all they could do in recording the win as they dispatched the Sharks 5-4 on the strength of two own goals by Samoana.
South Pacific Academy won by default against the Tafuna Warriors.
The final game of round one will determine the top team as the Lions will take on Faga’itua on Oct. 31 at Leone High School. In other games Samoana is to play Tafuna while Manumalo takes on SPA.
Round two kicks off Nov. 2.
