Warriors J-V suffer first loss of season

The win was the first for Leone also while in the only other match the Samoana Sharks edged the Faga’itua Vikings 2-0.
In varsity games it was Samoana 2, Leone 0 and Faga’itua 3, Kananafou 0.
Tafuna still leads the division with eight points, followed by Samoana with seven, Faga’itua with five and Leone with four.

Rejane Petaia curled a free kick from just outside the penalty box to the far goal post for the first score and Clement Simi finished it off with a goal of her own late in the second half to garner the Lions’ first win of the season.
SHARKS 2, VIKINGS 0
Melinda Tupuola scored a brace for Samoana in a very tough match against the Vikings.
The win helped them leap over Faga’itua for second place in the standings.
VARSITY
SHARKS 2, LIONS 0
Samoana jumped from fourth to second in the standings thanks to a very hard earned 2-0 win over Leone.
Taulagaola Utai and Lydia Ting both scored for the Sharks in their win.
The loss dropped the Lions down a spot from second to third.
On Wednesday, Feb. 16 will be make up games with the varsity division’s Tafuna playing Fa’asao-Marist and Samoana taking on Kananafou. The only J-V match features Samoana against Leone.
On Saturday, Feb. 19, the season closes with J-V games between Leone-Tafuna and Samoana-Faga’itua.
Fa’asao-Marist faces Samoana while Leone takes on Tafuna in varsity matches.
The playoffs for both divisions (1vs4, 2vs3) is set for Feb. 26 while the finals and consolation games are scheduled for March 5, 2011. All games are to be played at Kananafou Theological Seminary.
