Men’s soccer playoffs kickoff Saturday

Only three playoff games will be held as the sixth seed for Pool B still needs to be determined between Ilaoa & To’omata and Pago Youth B. This match was one of a few that was not played on Saturday, Nov. 13 after all games were called following the heated exchange between Pago Pago and Vailoatai fans.
Ilaoa & To’omata takes on Pago B on Saturday, Nov. 20 with the winner advancing to their first round match against Kiwi Soccers on Monday, Nov. 22. The game was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 17 but canceled again due to the bad weather. The field is not available on Thursday or Friday thus the match will be played on Saturday along with the other playoff games.
POOL A
The top five teams are Black Roses, Fagasa Youth, Kiwi Soccers, Utulei Youth and Tafuna Jets A.
Ilaoa & To’omata is sixth while Pago Youth B 7th.
No. Black Roses and No. 2 Fagasa Youth get the first round byes while No. 3 Kiwi Soccers takes on the winner of Ilaoa & To’omata/Pago Youth B while No. 4 Utulei Youth takes on No. 5 Tafuna Jets A at 9:30 a.m.
In their pool match on Oct. 9 Utulei barely won 3-2 against Tafuna A with the former leading 2-0 after the first half and then hung on in the end for their first win of the season.
As for Kiwi, they may prefer Pago B after dispatching them 5-3 on Oct. 9. Against Ilaoa & To’omata they were crushed 5-1 on Oct. 16.
Once the winners are determined Black Roses will take on the lowest seeded winner while Fagasa Youth faces the highest seeded winner.
POOL B
No. 1Pago A and No. 2 Vailoatai Youth are the top two seeds, respectively, and will take to the field against the survivors on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25).
On Nov. 20, No. 3 FC SKBC takes on No. 6 Lauli’i at 11:30 a.m. while No. 4 Lion Heart faces No. 5 PanSa.
SKBC edged Lauli’i 2-1 on Oct. 23 while Lion Heart also won by the same score against PanSa on the same day.
