Pago A takes sole possession of 1st place

Their hold on the No. 1 spot in the standings was possible after Vaitogi United lost to Lion Heart A 2-1 during round 3 of the ongoing competition at Pago Park Soccer Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012.
In other Division 1 games it was Utulei Youth 2, Pago Youth B 1 and Tafuna Jets 2, Black Roses 0.
PAGO YOUTH A 6, KIWI SOCCERS 1 (CUP)
Rambo Tapui and AJ Tualaulelei scored two goals apiece for Pago Youth in the defending champs third straight win of the season.
By the end of the first half Pago A was leading 4-1.
Kiwi’s lone goal came from Fama Poyer.
LION HEART A 2, VAITOGI UNITED 1
Lion Heart A had not won a game yet all season before meeting Vaitogi United, the No. 2 team in the standings.
The game was even at halftime 0-0 and then even again late in the second half at one apiece.
Charmany Fa’atupuinati provided the game winner for Lion Heart as he headed in a perfectly struck corner kick just five minutes after Vaitogi United had equalized.
Mikey Unasa scored for Vaitogi as they did not play their best match against Lion Heart as they missed many scoring chances.
UTULEI YOUTH 2, PAGO YOUTH B 1
Kaleopa Siligi was the man of the match for Utulei after scoring two goals to sneak by Pago Youth B 2-1 last Saturday.
His first goal was a thing of beauty as the ambidextrous player curled in a corner kick left-footed for the match’s first goal.
He later scored the game-winner with the game tied 1-1.
TAFUNA JETS 2, BLACK ROSES 0
Sam “Pili” Taulealo scored both goals in each half to help the Jets beat Black Roses 2-0.
It was a tightly contested game between both teams throughout with Tafuna taking advantage of their scoring opportunities while the Black Roses failed to do so when presented with their chances.
