Warriors lead ASHSAA boys’ Futsal

Recently they defeated the Faga’itua Vikings 7-3 on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 while in the only other match the Leone Lions came back to win 4-3 against the Nu’uuli Voc-Tech Wildcats.
Games are played once a week every Tuesday with a top-four, playoff format to follow once they have completed their season.
With Tafuna leading, Samoana is second, followed by the Leone Lions, Wildcats and then the Vikings.
All games are being held at Samoana High School’s gymnasium and next week Tuesday Leone takes on Faga’itua at 4 p.m. while the top two teams, Tafuna and Samoana, face off in the second match at 5 p.m.
WARRIORS 7, VIKINGS 3
A 2-0, first half lead ballooned to 6-0 with about seven minutes to spare in the fina period.
Roy Luani came on fire for Faga’itua with a hat-trick to cut the deficit in half, 6-3, but Faga’itua’s late charge was a little too late.
Richard M. and Eldon S. scored two goals apiece for Tafuna.
LIONS 4, WILDCATS 3
The Wildcats jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first half and then collapsed in the second, allowing Leone to come back and win 4-3.
Bobby Nu’usila led the comeback with a hat-trick, including the game winner with less than four minutes to play.
