Kiwi Soccers easily retains its Cup

In other divisional games it was Utulei Youth 3, Pago Youth 0; PanSa 4, Taputimu 2; Tafuna Jets 6, Vaiala Tongan 1; Black Roses 3, Ilaoa To’omata 3 (forfeit) and Green Bay had a bye.
Ten minutes into the first half and Ruby Fia had scored twice for Kiwi to go up 2-0.
Jennifer Sasala also scored twice in that first half and by the end of the period Kiwi was leading 5-0.
In the second Fia completed her hat trick 10 minutes into the half while Josephine Leota managed two goals as well in that last half.
This is Kiwi’s first successful retention of the cup after taking it away from Ilaoa & To’omata on Aug. 11.
UTULEI YOUTH 3, PAGO YOUTH 0
In a rematch of the 2011 championship game, Utulei Youth avenged their loss with a 3-0 showing over Pago Youth.
Pago Youth triumphed over Utulei in a shootout and during the 2012 version the first half ended 0-0.
It was a strong showing by Pago as they started and finished the match with only nine players.
Despite their numbers, Utulei finally took advantage of it in the second half with goals coming late in the game Ta’i Siatu’u, Sina Taumanupepe and Fa’atupu Fa’avae.
PANSA 4, TAPUTIMU 2
PanSa led 2-1 in the first half and then saw the game tied 2-2 two minutes into the second.
PanSa slowly but surely took control of things as they led for good six minutes later before eventually going on to win 4-2.
Melinda Tua and Dorthy Savea scored two goals apiece for PanSa while Salevu Filiva’a also scored two for Taputimu Youth.
TAFUNA JETS 3, VAIALA TONGAN 1
The Jets only had nine players suited up for the match and they managed to pull off a win against a very inexperienced team in Vaiala Tongan.
Tafuna dominated the first half and attacked constantly and only managed two goals.
Tonga took advantage of one of the Jets’ lack of players once with a successful attack on goal to come away with a 2-1 showing in the first half.
In the second it was all Tafuna as they racked up four goals to win 6-1. Tagilima Lotoa and Tapualii Tuinama scored two goals each for Tafuna.
BLACK ROSES 3, ILAOA & TO’OMATA 0 (FORFEIT)
Black Roses was awarded the win by forfeit after Ilaoa & To’omata failed to field at least seven players for the match.
The win helps Black Roses maintain its divisional lead in the standings by way of goals differential over three other teams — Kiwi, Utulei and PanSa.
