Royal Puma holds on to cup in 4-0 win over Green Bay

Walter Pati completed a hat trick to help Royal Puma beat Green Bay 4-0 in the 2018 FFAS National League’s Match Day 4 of the men’s National Cup challenge game on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.

In other games, it was Tafuna Jets 4, Vaiala Tongan 3; Ilaoa & To’omata 4, Pago Youth B 3; Pago Youth A 4, Lion Heart 0; Taputimu Youth 6, PanSa 3 and Utulei Youth 9, Black Roses 1.

ROYAL PUMA 4, GREEN BAY 0

Royal Puma successfully defended the men’s FFAS National Cup for the third straight week with a 4-0 outing against Green Bay thanks to Pati’s hat trick.

He was perfect on his timing on two corner kicks for two of his goals. Ene Ah Sam scored the other goal for Royal Puma.

Royal Puma will take on the Tafuna Jets this coming Saturday.

TAFUNA JETS 4, VAIALA TONGAN 3

The Jets dug in deep and came out on top in a come-from-behind win against Vaiala Tongan last Saturday.

Trailing 2-1 at the end of the first half, Harry Mata’u scored twice in the second half to help Tafuna put away a feisty Vaiala Tongan team.

The win helps the Jets maintain their unbeaten streak and will also face unbeaten Royal Puma for the men’s FFAS National Cup this coming Saturday.

ILAOA & TO’OMATA 4, PAGO YOUTH B 3

Pago Youth B’s squad made up of mostly high school players has been trouble for their opponents for the last four weeks. Ilaoa & To’omata had a tough time pulling out the win against Pago Youth’s B squad, edging them by only a goal, 4-3.

Joseph Koroiadi scored the game winner with only two minutes to play in the game. Ilaoa & To’omata led by a goal after the first half, 2-1.

PAGO YOUTH A 4, LION HEART 0

Rambo Tapui scored two goals to help Pago A beat a tough Lion Heart team.

After the first half Pago A led by a goal, 1-0, before Ryan Samuelu started the run on goals in the second half with three by Pago Youth.

TAPUTIMU YOUTH 6, PANSA 3

Matthew Lagai scored four goals in Taputimu Youth’s win over PanSa last week.

After the first half they were leading 3-1 and never looked behind in the second half.

UTULEI YOUTH 9, BLACK ROSES 1

Sulifou Faaloua and Elama Faatonu scored two goals each in Utulei Youth’s eight-goal win over Black Roses.

Utulei Youth is the only other team besides Royal Puma and Tafuna Jets to go unbeaten after the fourth week of the National League. Utulei will play against Taputimu Youth on Match Day 5.
