Pago Youth takes women’s Cup away from Vaiala Tongan

Pago Youth wrested the FFAS women’s National Cup away from Vaiala Tongan with a commanding 6-0 win on Match Day 2 of the National League on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.

Regina Wright and Tulima Mauga scored two goals each, while Sapina Tiumalu and Lydia Amisone scored one each.

In other games, it was Taputimu Youth 2, Utulei Youth 1; Ilaoa & To’omata 2, Green Bay 0; PanSa 6, Tafuna Jets 0 and Lion Heart by forfeit over Black Roses with a 3-0 score.

Black Roses did not field the required number of players (9) to start the game.

TAPUTIMU YOUTH 2, UTULEI YOUTH 1

Taputimu Youth scored a goal in each half to win a close one against Utulei Youth, thanks to goals from Tofu Malaki and Salevu Filiva’a.

Loto Siatu’u scored Utulei’s lone goal.

ILAOA & TO’OMATA 2, GREEN BAY 0

Lela Hunkin and Maraea Nautu scored for Ilaoa & To’omata in the second half to win a hotly contested game against Green Bay.

PANSA 6, TAFUNA JETS 0

PanSa led by only a goal at the end of the first half, but opened it up in the second with five goals to make up the game’s final tally.

Melinda Tua completed a hat trick for PanSa, Blanche Fruean scored two goals, while Ruta Malala and Ati Faamau-Samuelu scored one each.
