One upset in men’s playoffs

In other games things went as expected with the top seed winning although lower seed FC SKBC gave Pago Youth B a scare as that match went to penalty kicks to determine the winner in their Pool B match. The score was 6-6 (3-2, penalty kicks).
In the other Pool B match No. 1 Jets beat No. 5 Green
Pool A’s top seeded Utulei Youth cruised to an 8-2 win over No. 6 Green Bay 7-2.
The upcoming semi-finals and final will be held on June 23 with the pairings to be Pool A’s Utulei Youth vs. Pool B’s Pago Youth B in the first match and the 2nd one to feature Pool B’s top seed Jets vs. Pool A’s 2nd best in Black Roses.
The winners go on to the final while the losers play for third place.
POOL A 2ND ROUND PLAYOFFS
BLACK ROSES 7, PAGO A 6 (EXTRA PERIOD)
Three minutes into the extra period and Sam Anaai scored the game winner for Black Roses in a back and forth match that was very physical.
The teams played to a 3-3 tie in the first half and a 5-5 draw in the second to force the extra period.
Pago A played desperately in trying to defend a 4-3 advantage but Black Roses’ Pan Kaleopa scored the equalizer off of a corner kick in the dying minutes of regulation to force the extra time. The score was also his hat trick for the match, equaling that of Pago Youth A’s Rambo Tapui.
UTULEI YOUTH 8, VAITOGI UNITED B 2
Utulei Youth cruised to a 5-0 first half lead thanks to doubles from Peter Harrington and Kaleopa Siligi.
Harrington would go on to score two more in the second half as the as yet undefeated Utulei Youth won easily 8-2.
POOL B 2ND ROUND PLAYOFFS
PAGO YOUTH B 6, FC SKBC 6 (3-2) PENALTY KICKS
Goalie Alatina Vaialii successfully blocked FC SKBC’s third penalty kick and Misionare Tuitamai thanked his teammate by scored Pago Youth’s third and final penalty kick to come out winners in a very tough third round playoff game.
FC SKBC played well to force the extra period and penalty kicks as they managed to score two goals in the last two minutes to equalize it at 6-6.
