2011 FIFA MA Referee Course ends

“I want to congratulate you all for completing this course and hope you continue to be a referee or assistant referee,” said FIFA Referee Instructor Neil Poloso to the participants. “It’s been fun for us teaching you and I hope it was fun for you learning.”
FIFA Fitness Instructor Kader Touati urged the participants that did not pass the fitness test to try and pass it when local Fitness Instructors Terrence Sinapati and Tala Fa’alavaau administer it.
Out of the 22 course participants, five passed the sprint and interval tests.
FFAS Executive Committee members Rev. Ioane Evagelia and Silasila Samuelu closed the course on behalf of the soccer association’s President Iuli Alex Godinet who was attending a family fa’alavelave.
“When the team returns from the Pacific Games (New Caledonia) our National 11-a-side league will kick off so we’re going to need all of you then,” Samuelu explained. “Keep reading your FIFA Laws of the Game and keep studying your notes to stay ready for our upcoming competition.”
Rev. Evagelia heaped praises on the participants for making their time available to attend.
“Without your commitment this would not have been possible because our association needs referees and assistant referees,” he said.
Instructors Poloso and Touati started the course with FIFA Referee Development Officer Massimo Raveino before the latter departed the territory to attend a conference.
This is the fourth such course held since 2008.
Sinapati, Fa’alavaau and local Referee Instructors Uinifareti Aliva and Lemusa Alatasi, assisted the off island instructors conduct the program.
All the participants received a Certificate of Participation on the final day.
