FFAS Summer Youth League 2010 kicks off

A total of 31 teams will be competing in five different age divisions in the next two weeks and it is for FFAS affiliated clubs only.
“This is one competition we do not intend on missing every year and we are thankful to the Kananfou leaders for allowing us to use their field while ours is under going a new upgrade,” explained Tavita Taumua, FFAS CEO. “We are looking forward to watching these young children play and we hope they all enjoy themselves.”
The league kicks off with an opening ceremony at 8:30 in the morning followed by the Boys’ 12-14 and Mixed 6-8 age divisions kicking off the start of the league.
All divisions will play in two-round robins with the top four teams from all 12-14 and 15-17 age groups advancing to the playoffs scheduled for August 7, 2010.
Games will be played on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays for the next two weeks.
Lion Heart is the defending title holder for the Boys’ 12-14 group while Black Roses are the defending champs for both the boys and girls’ 15-17 division.
