Pago Youth has extended its lead in the championship run for the 2016 FFAS National League after a hard-fought, 3-0 win over Vaiala Tongan on Match Day 11 of the competition.
In the meantime, Utulei Youth won its first game of the Top 5 group that will determine the 2016 title holders after being idle in the first round. They beat Lion Heart 1-0, ending any chances for the latter to grab this year’s title.
In Bottom 5 games, Green Bay drew with Black Roses 1-1 while Ilaoa & To’omata beat PanSa 4-0 after being idle the weekend before.

Ne’emia Kaleopa came through for Utulei Youth yet again, scoring the game winner for his team in the second half.
Lion Heart has lost two straight since the Top 5 group games started. Utulei Youth is second with three points, and with one goal to their name.
PAGO YOUTH 3, VAIALA TONGAN 0
Despite the score, it was a much closer game with Pago Youth struggling to break through Vaiala Tongan’s very stout defense that was led by Sione Moeaki.
Rambo Tapui broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the first half, and Pago Youth finally wore down their opponents by scoring twice in a span of two minutes in the last period.
Nissan Penitusi and Sam Tualaulelei scored for Pago Youth in the last three minutes of the game.
