Pago Youth A retained the FFAS National Cup in a thrilling 2-1 game against Vaiala Tongan on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.
In one significant Round 10 game, it was yet another draw for Utulei Youth, a 2-2 decision against Ilaoa & To’omata, while in other games it was Royal Puma 3, PanSa 2; Taputimu Youth 10, Black Roses 1 and Green Bay by forfeit over Lion Heart. This was Lion Heart’s second default of the season, automatically disqualifying them from the competition.
PAGO YOUTH A 2, VAIALA TONGAN 1
Rambo Tapui scored two goals in the first half as Pago looked to run away with the game. However, Chris Faamoana cut the deficit in half with his score in the 28th minute.
Tapui had a chance to complete a hat trick but his penalty kick went wide left against Vaiala Tongan. Pago Youth was able to hold off Vaiala Tongan’s onslaught despite playing with only 10 players for most of the second half.
UTULEI YOUTH 2, ILAOA & TO’OMATA 2
Ilaoa & To’omata drew first blood with Joseph Koroiadi’s goal in the 22nd minute, but Utulei Youth quickly replied thanks to Iopu Kaleopa’s score in the 23rd.
In the second half, Palauni Tapusoa gave his team a 2-1 edge in the 38th minute, but Jason Eary equalized in the 50th minute.
ROYAL PUMA 3, PANSA 2
Alatina Vaiali’i scored the game winner on the last second of the game to help Royal Puma hold off PanSa 3-2.
Misionare Eti scored in the 10th minute for Royal Puma, and Walter Pati made it 2-1 in the first half with his goal during the 29th minute. Jonathan Malaefono for PanSa scored in the 27th for his team,.
Jacob Sanclan equalized for PanSa in the second half on the 54-minute mark, before Vaiali’i provided the game-winner for Royal Puma.
TAPUTIMU YOUTH 10, BLACK ROSES 1
Mathew Lagai scored six goals for Taputimu Youth in their big, 10-1 win over Black Roses to maintain their top four spot in the standings.
