Ilaoa & To’omata, Atu’u the class of Division 2

The Leone-based team and the Broncos, holders of the Division 2 FFAS National Cup, are tied with 10 points apiece with the former holding the goals differential edge (13-10).
Over the weekend Atu’u retained their Cup with a 7-1 win over Vaiala Tongan B while in other games it was Ilaoa & To’omata 6, Vaitogi United 0 and Green Bay 1, Black Roses 1.
Ilaoa & To’omata takes on Black Roses this Saturday while Atu’u defends their Cup against Green Bay.
ATU’U BRONCOS 7, VAIALA TONGAN B 1
Sam ‘Pili’ Taulealo, Mikaele Nansen and Rafael ‘Fish’ Rocha scored two goals each to help the Broncos retain the Division 2, FFAS National Cup for the second straight week.
They took it away from Vaitogi United on August 16 and in have been successful in two challenges for it so far, one of them a 1-1 draw against Ilaoa & To’omata on August 23.
ILAOA & TO’OMATA 6, VAITOGI UNITED 0
Ilaoa & To’omata turned a 2-0 halftime score into a 6-0 rout of Vaitogi United thanks to a brace from Puna Alatasi.
In the second half Tala Fa’alavaau, Shane Ah Hing, Paia Ipiniu and Manatua Tafaiolo scored a goal each to help keep their team at No. 1 in the standings.
GREEN BAY 1, BLACK ROSES 1
Green Bay gave the game away when they missed on a penalty kick late in the match with the score tied at 1-1.
Black Roses also had their chances as well but not in the same situation as Green Bay when the PK was whistled in their favor.
