Playoffs set for Boys HS varsity soccer

Top-seed and favorites to win, No. 1 South Pacific Academy Dolphins, face off against No. 4 Tafuna Warriors while the other semi-final game has No. 2 Samoana Sharks taking on No. 3 Nu’uuli Voc-Tech Wildcats.
The season started with six teams but the other two, defending champs Fa’asao-Marist Crusaders and the Faga’itua Vikings, were removed from the competition after forfeiting twice. The season kicked off on March 14.
SPA has been a nearly unstoppable force, losing their only game against the Vikings on March 21, 3-1. However, the Dolphins avenged that loss by winning narrowly, 4-3 on April 6.
In the semi-final matchups, SPA has dominated Tafuna with a 10-2 scoreline from two games, both 5-1 affairs.
In the Samoana vs. Nu’uuli Voc-Tech contest, the Sharks won handily 7-1 in the first game while the second was postponed due to bad weather. The game was not rescheduled as it would have not factored a change in the standings.
The games are to kick off at 4 p.m. at the Pago Park Soccer Stadium.
