Close race for top billing in Pool B

In Pool A Utulei Youth is still the top seed despite sitting out the fifth day of action with a bye.
POOL B
FC SKBC and Atu’u are tied with 12 points apiece with the former still holding on to the number one spot by way of a difference in goals of 16-14. SKBC defeated Black Roses 9-3 while Atu’u Broncos also won big, beating Tafuna Jets A 7-2. In other group games it was Lion Heart A 5, Pago Youth B 3 and Ilaoa & To’omata 3, Kiwi Soccers 0 by forcet.
FC SKBC 9, BLACK ROSES 3
In a span of three minutes SKBC led 3-0 thanks to two of Keniseli Tupuola’s four goals in the match but by the end of the first half Black Roses was only down by two goals with the score sitting at 4-2.
In the second half SKBC went on a scoring tear with a 6-1 effort over Black Roses for the game’s final tally of 9-3. Besides Tupuola’s four goals, SKBC’s Raynel Krishna had three and Pedro Diaz scored two.
ATU’U BRONCOS 7, TAFUNA JETS A 2
Despite the score it was a much closer game with the Jets scoring first. Atu’u would equalize 20 seconds later and they took the lead for good with only six minutes to play in the first half.
At the break they were up 3-1 and pulled away with two goals in a span of a minute in the second half for a commanding 5-1 score. Nishant Pradat and Rafael “Fish” Rocha completed hat tricks in the Broncos win.
LION HEART A 5, PAGO YOUTH B 3
This was a very close match with the first half ending in a 1-1 tie. Fortunately for Lion Heart A they scored three goals in a two-minute span to take control of the match and managed to do enough to walk away with the two-goal win. Hiva Tu’ulau scored two for Lion Heart A while Fiatele Niuoka also scored a brace for Pago B.
POOL A
Despite sitting with a bye, Utulei Youth still emerged as the top seed in the group. Two games were postponed — Jets B vs. Lion Heart B, Pago Youth A vs. PanSa — and will be held at a later date.
The only two games completed from this group saw Taputimu Youth beating Vaiala Tongan 6-2 and a 2-2 draw between Green Bay and Vaitogi United.
TAPUTIMU YOUTH 6, VAIALA TONGAN 2
Taputimu Youth took advantage of a 4-0 first half score to stay abreast of two other teams — Pago Youth A and Vaitogi United — for sole possession of second place. Only the top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
Meighen Fanolua scored twice for Taputimu while Fae Pouli also had two for Vaiala Tongan.
GREEN BAY 2, VAITOGI UNITED 2
Patrick Ah Fook scored the equalizer for Green Bay with only six minutes remaining in the match to force a 2-2 draw by game’s end. Vaitogi had taken a 2-1 lead into the second half but could not hold on for the win.
