Elementary soccer league reaches its midpoint

In the Girls Grades 3-5 division, five teams are in the running for the top four, playoff spots. For the boys same age group, at least six teams have a shot at making the postseason.
In the boys and girls Grades 6-8 brackets, six teams out of nine competing are vying for one of the four playoff spots.
The playoffs are scheduled for November 23 with the championship games set for November 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
“The games are still ever popular and we’ve seen a huge crowd this year,” explained FFAS CEO Tavita Taumua. “Again, thanks to Kanana Fou Theological Seminary and CCCAS for allowing us to use the field for our competition this year.”
BOYS 3-5
South Pacific Academy is No. 1 in the standings with 12 points, followed by St. Theresa with 10, Iakina Adventist Academy at No. 3 with nine and Pacific Horizon with eight to round out the top four teams.
Peteli Academy sits at No. 5 with seven points, followed by Samoa Baptist Academy with four, Marist St. Francis at No. 7 with two and rounding it out are Kanana Fou B at No. 8 with two and Kanana Fou A with one point.
Kanana Fou A is last year’s defending title holder for the Division.
GIRLS 3-5
SPA also leads this division with 12 points, followed by Peteli Academy with 11, SBA at No. 3 with seven and Kanana Fou A with seven as well. SBA edges defending champs Kanana Fou A by a differential in goals, 3 to -2, respectively.
Marist St. Francis is fifth with five points, followed by Kanana Fou B with three, St. Theresa at No. 7 with one and Pacific Horizon at No. 8 with one point as well.
BOYS 6-8
SPA has been No. 1 in the standings for all five-match days, with four wins and a draw for 13 points. At No. 2 is Pacific Horizon with 12 points, Marist St. Francis at No. 3 with nine and Iakina at No. 4 with seven points.
St. Theresa is only a point away from the top four with six, followed by defending champs Peteli with five points, Kanana Fou A at No. 7 with three, SBA at No. 8 with three points as well and Kanana Fou B at No. 9 with zero points.
GIRLS 6-8
Marist St. Francis and Kanana Fou A are tied with 12 points each to lead the competition, with the former the top team in the standings thanks to 23 goals for and against. Kanana Fou has 12 for the No. 2 spot.
Peteli, the defending champs, also are tied with SPA but hold the goals differential edge, 3-1.
SBA is fifth with seven points, followed by St. Theresa with four, Pacific Horizon with one at No. 7, followed by Kanana Fou B with one point at No. 8 and Iakina at No. 9 with zero points.
