Black Roses holds off FC SKBC 3-2

In the other quarterfinal matches it was PanSa 4, Green Bay 1; Vailoatai Youth 18, Kiwi Soccers 2 and Lion Heart 3, Pago Youth B 0 (forfeit).
Pago Youth B was a no show on the day, thus giving Lion Heart a free pass to the semi-finals scheduled for Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11).
Black Roses jumped ahead to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Fa’apale Fa’apale (6’) and Nu’usila (30’).
In the second half SKBC cut the deficit in half 2-1 before Nu’usila gave his team a one-goal cushion midway through that period before Gun Chul Kang made it a one-goal match with a score of his own.
Black Roses will be missing the services of Nu’usila in the semi-finals of the President’s Cup after he earned his second yellow card of the game.
The matchups for the semi-finals will be determined on Nov. 6 by a drawing of lots by the coaches.
Green Bay drew first blood but it was PanSa that walked away victorious and a semi-final berth with a yet to be determined opponent.
A brace of goals from So’oga Fasia and an own-goal was the undoing of Green Bay.
Vailoatai Youth demolished Kiwi Soccers 18-2 with Ryan Petaia leading the way with four goals while hat tricks went to Tanielu Tanielu and Tolu Malaeulu.
Danny Mulitalo scored twice for Kiwi.
