Collision course for top 2 in Boys’ 15-17

After the latest rounds of games played on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Pago Park Soccer Stadium, Utulei Youth is only a three points in front of Lion heart (18-15).
In second place is Atu’u Broncos with nine, followed by Black Roses and the Jets with seven apiece. Black Roses holds the goals difference tiebreaker with -6 to the Jets’ -8.
In sixth is Pago Youth with six points, followed by Green Bay in 7th with four, Vaitogi United at 8th with 4 and Ilaoa & To’omata rounding it out in 9th with 0 points.
Green Bay is -10 to Vaitogi United’s -32 in the difference of goals for and against.
Utulei is a game ahead of Lion Heart after having played six games to the latter’s five. Their scheduled match is set for the last day of the competition, July 14.
Utulei is the top team in other categories such as goals scored with a whopping 57 while allowing only five.
Lion Heart, consisting of players that won the boys’ 12-14 age group the last two years, is on a scoring romp as well with 41 for and only six against.
Both teams also consist of a good number of players that have represented American Samoa at recent OFC youth championships (U-17 and U-20).
This could be the match of the tournament should they both go into their July 14 meeting with perfect records.
