Atu’u escapes with a draw in Division 2 Cup challenge

Va’a Kerisiano gave Ilaoa & To’omata the lead 10 minutes into the first half and for the majority of that period it looked as if there would be a new Cup holder.
However, with less than 10 minutes to play, Malala Iose scored with a free kick from 20 yards out that glanced off of the hands of the Ilaoa & To’omata goalie KB Mariota and into the back of the net on the near post.
The equalizer helped Atu’u retain the cup for yet another week.
In other games it was Vaitogi United 6, Black Roses 4 and Green Bay 4, Vaiala Tongan B 2.
VAITOGI UNITED 6, BLACK ROSES 4
Mathew Tusitala scored four goals in a back and forth game against Black Roses, including three straight in the second half to put the game away for Vaitogi United.
At the end of the first half Black Roses was leading 2-1 before Vaitogi finished off with a strong showing.
Mark Faatau scored twice for Black Roses.
GREEN BAY 4, VAIALA TONGAN B 2
Holly scored twice to help Green Bay earn their first win of the season over Vaiala Tongan B.
At the end of the first half Green Bay was up 3-1.
