Utulei Youth claims women’s National League title

They were officially champions going into the final game last Saturday against PanSa and then won 5-2 to make it a perfect season.
The first double is for both Utulei teams winning the National League titles in the men and women’s divisions and the second is for both teams finishing the season with their respective, FFAS National Cups.
Both Utulei teams went 8-0 during the season to claim their respective titles.
“Back in those days PanSa would win everything and then it switched to Black Roses,” explained Rev. Ioane Evagelia to both teams after the game. “Now after all these years it is Utulei holding the championship and we thank you for a great game and a great season.”
Utulei jumped to a 3-0 lead against a short-handed PanSa squad as they started the first half with only nine players. In the second they were able to field a full 11 players and the momentum shifted in their favor as they scored twice to cut the deficit down to one goal, 3-2.
But Utulei answered with two more goals in the final half to put the match, the championship title, in the bag.
PanSa, with a 5-3 record, finish the season in second place, followed by Ilaoa & To’omata at No. 3, Lion Heart at No. 4 and Green Bay at No. 5.
Last year’s champions, Black Roses, did not field a team this year.
